Healthscope Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our ICU team. We have roles available on a full-time, part-time and casual basis with opportunities across our network.

You will provide high‑quality patient care in an acute ICU/HDU setting, uphold AHPRA standards, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. We value continuous professional development and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with AHPRA & Working rights in Australia
• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in an acute ICU or HDU setting
• Post Graduate Certificate in ICU/HDU/CCU (or working towards) is desirable
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, implement and evaluate evidence-based, patient-centred care.
• Adhere to professional standards, code of ethics and Healthscope policies.
• Support learning through clinical presentations and supervision of peers, ENs, graduates and students.
• Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.

Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurse's to join our ICU team, we have a variety of roles available with work on a full-time, Part-time and casual basis.

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park with 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

Our Cardiac, Maternity, Rehab and Oncology services also provide exceptional specialty care for individuals and their families/carers across the Newcastle region and beyond.

As a Registered Nurse - ICU, your responsibilities will include:

• Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence based, person centred patient care
• Demonstrate professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's polices and processes
• Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development and providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates and students
• Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices
• Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum
• Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes
• Current Registration with AHPRA & Working rights in Australia
• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in an acute acute ICU, or HDU setting
• A degree of exposure and experience in a HDU or ICU setting
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
• Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Works well independently and within a team
• Post Graduate Certificate in ICU, HDU, or CCU (or working towards) is desirable

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2026, a salary ranging from $40.26 - $56.54 per hour.
