Job summary

Healthscope’s Norwest Private Hospital in Sydney’s Northwest operates a modern 19-bed ICU delivering high-acuity care. We are seeking experienced Intensive Care Registered Nurses committed to evidence-based practice and compassionate family-centered care.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, work across the full scope of critical care, and contribute to education and clinical excellence while advancing your ICU career in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years ICU experience.
• Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care/ICU (or currently undertaking).
• Current ALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based ICU care to high-acuity patients.
• Manage patients requiring advanced critical care interventions, including ventilation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Support patients and families through recovery and end-of-life care when applicable.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Act as a role model for professional practice in the ICU.

Your Impact

As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will provide evidence-based care to patients with complex and high-acuity needs while supporting patients and families through challenging and often life-changing experiences.

You will:

• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred ICU care
• Manage patients requiring advanced critical care interventions, including mechanical ventilation
• Collaborate with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team
• Support patients and families throughout recovery, rehabilitation and end-of-life care
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and clinical excellence initiatives
• Act as a role model for professional practice and compassionate care

About You

You are a confident and compassionate ICU nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient outcomes.

• Minimum 3 years recent ICU experience, including mechanical ventilation
• Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care/ICU (or currently undertaking)
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and patient safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Current Working With Children Check
• Knowledge of and compliance with ACQSHC National Standards
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
