Job summary

Calvary Home Care in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-acuity care within our home care programs, delivering IV/IM/SC/PO medications, complex wound care, and catheter care as part of a supportive team.

You will work independently and with colleagues, complete assessments and care plans, document accurately, and participate in ongoing education and training, with AM/PM shifts and options for part-time or full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Active AHPRA nursing registration and current nursing practice.
• NDIS clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Police clearance within 6 months or willingness to obtain.
• Full driver’s licence and own vehicle with KM allowance.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV, IM, SC and PO medications accurately.
• Perform IV cannulation, PICC line and Infusaport care.
• Provide simple and complex wound care including compression/NPWT.
• Manage drain care and catheter care (male, female, supra pubic) with education.
• Document thoroughly in client records and communicate with the clinical team.
• Complete initial assessments and develop care plans; monitor/update them.
• Deliver education to clients and families for best outcomes.
• Recognise deterioration and escalate appropriately.

About the role

As a member of the Calvary Home Care team and as an experienced RN, you will provide care to high acuity clients from various short term/long terms programs. You will provide complex care to all clients by working both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

• Administration of IV, IM, SC and PO medications
• IV Cannulation, PICC line and Infusaport care
• Simple and Complex wound care including compression and NPWT
• Drain care
• Male, Female and Supra Pubic Catheter Care and Education
• Accurate/Timely documentation in all client records.
• Appropriate communication within the clinical team to ensure appropriate care is provided.
• Complete initial assessments/develop care plans to ensure best outcome for our clients.
• Monitor and update care plans to ensure appropriate care is provided
• Deliver education to client and families to enable best possible outcome.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration, with appropriate escalation.

What you bring

• Current AHPRA Nursing
• Minimum 1 year acute experience
• NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
• Police Clearance within 6 months (or willingness to obtain one)
• Use of own car - KM allowance provided
• Full drivers licence, reliable and comprehensively insured car
• CPR and Manual handling competency
• Candidates with an understanding of the community nursing sector - Home Care Packages, Department of Veteran Affairs and Commonwealth Home Support Program will be considered favourably
