Job summary

Respect Mareeba Gardens in Queensland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our supportive team on a full-time basis (38 hours per week). The RN will provide safe, contemporary nursing care to residents within AHPRA scope, reporting to Care Manager and GM, and supporting wellbeing and independence.

Key duties include admissions assessments, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Current National Police Certificate.
• Understanding of government standards for aged care.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Understanding of aged care accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

• Compile resident histories to identify care needs during admissions and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation reflecting care delivery.
• Develop and evaluate resident care plans and assist with admissions assessments.
• Provide direct clinical care including personal hygiene, pain management, and GP rounds participation.
• Administer medications following organisational policies.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver resident outcomes.

Respect Mareeba Gardens, Queensland is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our supportive team on a full-time basis (38 hours per week). The roster will be confirmed with the successful candidate and will require flexibility to work across a variety of shifts.

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, competent, and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Reporting directly to the Care Manager and General Manager, the Registered Nurse plays an integral role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of residents.

Key Duties

• Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs through resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation that reflects care delivery.
• Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate resident care plans, and assist with admission assessments.
• Provide direct clinical care to residents as required, including (but not limited to) personal hygiene, pain management, massage therapy, and participating in GP rounds.
• Administer medications and ensure correct ordering, storage, and documentation procedures are followed in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional resident outcomes.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, families, and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Current National Police Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
• Understanding of government standards and legislative requirements for the delivery of aged care.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• An understanding of the aged care accreditation process.

To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
