Job summary

Respect is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our supportive team in a part-time capacity at Toogoolawah Alkira, Queensland.

The RN will provide safe, competent clinical nursing care to residents within the scope defined by AHPRA, reporting to the Care Manager and General Manager, with indirect reports from other management representatives.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA to practise as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of Aged Care standards and Residential Classification Scale.
• Ability to obtain National Police Certificate.
• Strong documentation and clinical skills.
• Understanding of aged care accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

• Compile comprehensive histories from residents and families to identify care needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation reflecting care delivery.
• Develop, implement and evaluate resident care plans and admissions.
• Assist with direct clinical care including personal hygiene, pain management, and GP rounds.
• Administer medications and manage ordering, storage and documentation.

Job Description

Respect Toogoolawah Alkira, in Queensland, are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our supportive team in a part time capacity.

About the Position: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to provide safe, competent and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). On a day-to-day basis this position shall report to the Care Manager and General Manager. Indirect reports shall include other organisational management representatives.

Key Duties

• Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs by participating in resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain a high level of documentation which accurately reflects care delivery.
• Develop, implement and regularly evaluate resident care plans as directed and assist with resident admission assessments.
• Assist with the direct clinical care of residents as required, which may include but not limited to personal hygiene, massage therapy, pain management and GP rounds.
• Administer medications to residents and assume responsibility for correct ordering, storage and documentation procedures in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.

About the Candidate

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and Standards for Aged Care.
• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
• Knowledge of the standards required by the government for the delivery of aged care.
• Strong clinical and documentation skills.
• An understanding of the aged care accreditation process.
