Job summary

Respect Aged Care is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide safe and contemporary nursing care for residents under the AHPRA scope. The RN will report to the Care Manager and General Manager, contributing to high standards of care.

The role includes developing and evaluating care plans, maintaining thorough documentation, and assisting with admissions assessments, medication administration, and direct care as needed. Base salary falls between $80,000 and $103,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to practice as an RN.
  • Knowledge of Residential Classification Scale and Aged Care Standards.
  • National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Understanding of Aged Care Funding Instrument and accreditation processes.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Compile comprehensive resident histories and assess care needs on admission and ongoing basis.
  • Maintain accurate documentation reflecting care delivery and outcomes.
  • Develop and evaluate care plans; assist with admissions assessments as directed.
  • Provide direct clinical care including activities of daily living, pain management and GP rounds.
  • Administer medications and ensure proper ordering, storage and documentation.

About the Role:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to provide safe, competent and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). On a day to day basis this position shall report to the Care Manager and General Manager. Indirect reports shall include other organisational management representatives.

Key Duties
  • Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs by participating in resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
  • Maintain a high level of documentation which accurately reflects care delivery.
  • Develop, implement and regularly evaluate resident care plans as directed and assist with resident admission assessments.
  • Assist with the direct clinical care of residents as required, which may include but not limited to personal hygiene, massage therapy, pain management and GP rounds.
  • Administer medications to residents and assume responsibility for correct ordering, storage and documentation procedures in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and Standards for Aged Care.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • Knowledge of the standards required by the government for the delivery of aged care.
  • An understanding of the Commonwealth Aged Care Funding Instrument.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.
  • An understanding of the aged care accreditation process.
  • To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
  • The successful candidate will receive a base salary between the range $80,000 - $103,000
