Job summary

Serco is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Larrakeyah Health Centre in Darwin on a 30-hour per week, part-time basis. You will provide high-quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations, within a multidisciplinary team serving Defence personnel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations; monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward setting.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (GPs, physios, mental health clinicians, dental professionals).
• Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care.

About The Larrakeyah Health Centre

Larrakeyah Health Centre is located at the Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin City. Larrakeyah Defence Precinct is a unique tri-service Defence base directly supporting ADF operations & training. It is the home port of HMAS Coonawarra for Navy Patrol Boats and two Army Landing Craft. The facility has a routine dependency of 1100 personnel which surges every 3 months to conduct pre and post deployment medicals. The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements).

What You’ll Do

• Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care

What You Bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care
• Ability to work a 24/7 roster
• This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. LEAVE THIS IF ROLE IS OPD ONLY
