Job summary

Serco is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a Defence-focused primary healthcare setting at Holsworthy Health Centre, located on a base 25 kilometres SW of central Sydney. This part-time role (24.5 hours/week) offers predictable hours, a supportive multidisciplinary team, and opportunities to impact patient care in a unique environment.

You will deliver high quality primary healthcare, including vaccinations and health assessments, while collaborating with GPs, physios and mental health

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance).
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care.
• Ability to work a 24/7 roster from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward setting.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals.
• Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care.

About The Holsworthy Health Centre

Located 25 kilometres SW of central Sydney. Located on a 20,000-hectare base, it comprises of a 41-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. The base is also home to the Defence Force Correctional Establishment where detainees are visited by RNs daily. Standard hours of operation are generally 0730-1530 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
