Job summary

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Adele House in Coffs Harbour. You will deliver holistic clinical care, manage medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support residents on their recovery journey.

Ideal applicants will have AHPRA RN registration, 3+ years nursing experience, and preferably 2+ years in Alcohol and Other Drug services. This part-time role offers a values-driven environment and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • AHPRA RN registration is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Preferably 2+ years in Alcohol and Other Drug services, especially Opioid Treatment Programs.
  • Strong knowledge of AOD dependence and mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to residents with AOD dependence and mental health concerns.
  • Oversee medication administration including Long Acting Injectable Buprenorphine.
  • Build therapeutic relationships and support clients with complex needs.
  • Coordinate access to GPs, psychiatry and other health services.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans.
  • Support clients to engage with mainstream health and community services.
  • Contribute to governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Mentor staff with medication assistance responsibilities.

Your Role

Join Vinnies NSW as a Registered Nurse at Adele House, providing compassionate, holistic nursing care to residents on their journey towards recovery, stability and independence. As the Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality clinical care while working closely with the Adele House team and external health professionals. You’ll build trusted relationships with clients, coordinate access to essential health services and support safe medication management.

Your Responsibility
  • Provide holistic nursing care to residents experiencing AOD dependence and mental health concerns
  • Manage and oversee medication administration, including Long Acting Injectable Buprenorphine
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships and support clients with complex needs and behaviours
  • Coordinate access to GPs, psychiatry, podiatry, optometry, detoxification and other health services
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and review individual care plans
  • Support clients to connect with mainstream health and community services
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
  • Mentor and support staff with medication assistance responsibilities
You Will Need
  • Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
  • At least 3 years’ clinical nursing experience
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in Alcohol and Other Drug services, particularly an Opioid Treatment Program
  • Strong clinical knowledge of AOD dependence and mental health
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care, professional development and continuous improvement
