Job summary

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW in Armidale invites applications for the role of Manager, Freeman House. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across the service and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver recovery‑oriented programs.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will strengthen clinical governance, drive continuous quality improvement and build strong partnerships with health, housing and community services to ensure accredited, high‑quality care.

Qualifications

  • Five years' leadership experience in health, AOD or community services (or a relevant tertiary qualification)
  • Experience in operational management and people leadership
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of AOD, mental health, assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Experience with intake, referrals, case management and care planning for complex needs
  • Strong governance, quality improvement, accreditation, and risk management knowledge
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Sound WHS knowledge
  • Experience using data collection and health information systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Freeman House
  • Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred care
  • Oversee residential AOD rehabilitation, therapeutic and group programs
  • Support intake, assessment, care planning, risk management and outcome monitoring
  • Implement AOD Model of Care and Client-centred Service Delivery Model
  • Drive clinical governance and accreditation compliance
  • Build partnerships across health, housing, legal, employment, training and community services
  • Oversee service data collection, reporting and outcome measurement
  • Manage site operations, rosters, staffing, facilities, safety and maintenance
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment and staff development
  • Manage budgets and resources within delegated authority

Your Role

As Manager, Freeman House, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the service, leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, recovery-oriented programs that support positive outcomes for the people we serve.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Health Services, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance and day-to-day operations of Freeman House.You will play a key role in driving service excellence, strengthening clinical governance and continuous improvement, developing strong community partnerships and ensuring the service meets relevant quality, accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Your Responsibility
  • Providing strategic and operational leadership for Freeman House
  • Leading, supporting and developing a multidisciplinary team
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred and recovery-oriented care
  • Overseeing residential AOD rehabilitation, therapeutic and group programs, health programs and inclusion activities
  • Supporting effective intake, assessment, care planning, risk management and monitoring of client outcomes
  • Implementing the Society's AOD Model of Care and Client-centred Service Delivery Model
  • Driving clinical governance, continuous quality improvement and accreditation compliance
  • Building strong partnerships across health, mental health, housing, legal, employment, training and community services
  • Overseeing service data collection, reporting and outcome measurement
  • Managing site operations, including rosters, staffing, facilities, food services, safety and maintenance
  • Leading workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and staff development
  • Managing budgets and resources within delegated authority
You Will Need
  • A minimum of five years' demonstrated experience in an equivalent health, AOD or community services leadership role, or a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, Nursing, Allied Health or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in operational management and people leadership
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop effective multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge and experience in AOD treatment, mental health, assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Experience overseeing intake, referral, case management and care planning for people with complex and high-level needs
  • A strong understanding of clinical governance, continuous quality improvement, accreditation and risk management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Sound knowledge of WHS obligations
  • Experience using data collection, reporting and health information systems
