Job summary

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking a Clinical Practice Lead to guide nursing teams across NSW health, AOD, aged care, disability and primary health services. You will strengthen clinical governance, quality and evidence-based practice, while mentoring clinicians statewide.

Qualifications

  • Current nursing registration and postgraduate qualifications in nursing or clinical leadership.
  • Experience leading nursing teams across NSW.
  • Clinical experience in AOD, aged care, disability or primary health.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, quality and safety frameworks.
  • Experience with accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with complex health and psychosocial needs.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and manage priorities.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Checks or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical advice, mentoring and support to nursing staff across NSW.
  • Act as a clinical escalation point, supporting safe and effective clinical decision-making.
  • Support nurses working with complex presentations, including AOD, mental health and chronic conditions.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred care.
  • Drive clinical quality improvement, audits, incident reviews and risk management.
  • Support accreditation, regulatory compliance and external reviews.
  • Identify workforce capability needs and contribute to education, onboarding, supervision and professional development.
  • Contribute to clinical policies, procedures, models of care and scope of practice development.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, allied health, peer and operational teams to strengthen continuity of care.
  • Provide clinical advice to senior leaders on emerging risks, service development and nursing practice.
  • Lead and contribute to statewide projects, service improvements and new models of care.

Your Role

AsClinical Practice Lead you will provide expert clinical leadership, guidance and support to nursing teams across our Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD), aged care, disability and Primary Health services statewide.

Working across diverse service settings, you will provide clinical leadership, mentoring and consultation to nurses, while strengthening clinical governance, quality and safe, evidence-based practice.

Your Responsibility

About You
  • Current nursing registration and postgraduate qualifications in nursing or clinical leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical leadership and support to nursing teams.
  • Clinical experience across AOD, aged care, disability and/or Primary Health settings.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality and safety frameworks.
  • Experience supporting accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with people with complex health and psychosocial needs.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and manage competing priorities.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Checks & Orientation Module – Quality, Safety & You Certificate of completion, or willingness to obtain.
