Job summary

Serco is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Simpson Health Centre, a Defence healthcare site, on a part‑time fixed term basis until mid 2027. You will deliver high‑quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations, in a busy multidisciplinary environment.

Work with GPs, physiotherapists, mental health clinicians and dental professionals to support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management and preventative care. A 24/7 roster may be required.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum one year RN experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance).
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care.
• Ability to work a 24/7 roster.

About Simpson Health Centre

Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This is a part time, fixed term contract until June 2027 with a potential for extension.
