Job summary

Serco’s Robertson Health Centre at Holtze, within Robertson Barracks near Darwin, seeks a Mental Health RN to join a Defence-focused multidisciplinary team delivering primary care.

You will provide high-quality mental health care for Defence members, conduct fitness-for-duty assessments, manage medications, and contribute to care plans within a 7:30am–3:30pm schedule. Paid CPD leave, reservist/volunteer leave, and on-site parking support professional growth.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• ACMHN credential or Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
• Minimum two years’ mental health experience in primary healthcare or defence setting.
• Current CPR (HLTAID009) and baseline security clearance.
• Commitment to CPD and patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members.
• Conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
• Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans.

Robertson Health Centre is located within Robertson Barracks in Holtze, approximately 15 km east of Darwin.

The facility supports approximately 2,800 Defence personnel, along with a significant Reserve component. The Barracks also host an additional 2,500 US Marines on a rotational basis from May to September each year. The Health Centre provides comprehensive services including primary medical, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health care, and operates a 22-bed, 24/7 inpatient ward. Standard operating hours are 7:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday

What you’ll do

Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members

Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.

Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions

Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount

What You Bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• One of the following:
  • ACMHN credentialed
  • Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
• Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
• Minimum two years’ Post RN general registration experience within last five yearsin mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenshiprequired(Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
