Responsabilités

• Conduct initial and ongoing consultations with clients, assess visa options and provide clear migration advice
• Manage a caseload of migration matters from start to finish and sign off on work within expertise
• Draft, review and lodge visa, nomination and sponsorship applications and supporting submissions
• Respond to enquiries, provide quotes and convert prospective clients into engaged clients
• Collaborate with clients, employers, the Department of Home Affairs and other parties to keep matters moving
• Keep clients informed throughout their migration journey and update them on progress
• Open, manage and close client matters with accurate recording in the firm’s systems
• Stay up-to-date with migration law changes and meet ongoing professional development obligations
• Support the firm's marketing efforts to promote migration services and attract clients

Registered Migration Agent / Migration Lawyer

As a growing firm, we are seeking an experienced Registered Migration Agent or Migration Lawyer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role, with most of your time working from home. You will run your own consultations and manage migration matters from start to finish, working closely with our principal to deliver high-quality migration services to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing consultations with clients, assess their visa options and give clear, accurate migration advice
• Take responsibility for a caseload of migration matters, review files and sign off on work within your area of expertise
• Draft, review and lodge visa applications, nomination and sponsorship applications, and supporting submissions and correspondence
• Respond to new enquiries, gather relevant information, provide quotes and turn prospective clients into engaged clients
• Work with clients, employers, the Department of Home Affairs and other parties to keep matters moving and resolve any issues
• Keep clients informed throughout their migration journey by responding to queries and updating them on their application's progress
• Open, manage and close client matters, making sure all information is accurately recorded in the firm's systems in line with legal and regulatory requirements
• Keep up to date with changes to migration law and policy, and meet your ongoing professional development obligations
• Support the firm's marketing efforts to promote our migration services and attract new clients

About you

• A Registered Migration Agent (OMARA), or a lawyer with a current practising certificate and experience in migration law
• At least 2 years' experience providing migration advice and running migration matters, with the confidence to work independently from day one
• Experience conducting client consultations and managing a caseload of visa applications from start to finish
• Strong interpersonal skills, dedication to client service, and a positive attitude
• Exceptional attention to detail, with proven problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite and willingness to adapt to new technologies
• Experience with visas such as Subclass 820, 482, 186, 190, 189, 491 and 494 is an advantage
• Experience with appeals at the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is an advantage
