Job summary

NSW Health in Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals is seeking a Birth Unit Registered Midwife to support women and families through the birthing journey. You will deliver holistic, evidence-based care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to quality improvement across maternity services.

Registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA is required, with options for ongoing professional development and mentorship of junior staff. A permanent full-time appointment is available.

Qualifications

• Recent clinical experience in a relevant setting.
• Provide two referees including a current line manager.
• Understand NSW Health Code of Conduct and CORE values.
• Demonstrate woman-centred care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building.
• Excellent time management and organisation.
• Competent with health information systems.
• Registration to practice as a Registered Midwife (AHPRA).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-informed midwifery care across birthing and maternity units.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
• Promote and uphold professional midwifery standards and best practice.
• Support, mentor and guide students and fellow midwives.
• Foster open communication and teamwork to enhance patient outcomes.
