Job summary

NSW Health in Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals is seeking a Birth Unit Registered Midwife to support women and families through the birthing journey. You will deliver holistic, evidence-based care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to quality improvement across maternity services.

Registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA is required, with options for ongoing professional development and mentorship of junior staff. A permanent full-time appointment is available.

Qualifications

• Recent clinical experience in a relevant setting.

What you'll be doing

As a Registered Midwife, you’ll provide holistic, women and family-centred care to support positive birthing experiences and outcomes. You’ll collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team and contribute to continuous quality improvement across the maternity service.

Deliver safe, evidence-informed midwifery care across birthing and maternity units

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans

Support, mentor and guide students and fellow midwives

Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria

Identify your area of specialty or interest from the following selection - birthing, maternity, women's health clinics, midwifery at home, midwifery continuity of care models.

Recent relevant experience in a clinical setting as deemed appropriate by WSLHD.

Provide name and contact details (phone number and email) of two referees, one of which must be a current line manager.
