Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the Regional Transport Management Centre in the Coordinator General division, focusing on operating tunnel and traffic management systems and coordinating responses to events.

The role is 24/7, onsite at McLeods Shoot, with rostered day and night shifts, penalties and overtime, and five weeks' annual leave to support resilience and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating with professionals across levels and divisions.
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgement, risk mitigation and problem-solving in transport environments.
• Experience with network management and computerised electronic traffic and transport systems.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate control systems for the State network (traffic and tunnel) including tunnel ventilation, power, fire and drainage systems.
• Identify and assess unusual congestion and delays and impacts to transport corridors or routes.
• Coordinate responses to planned events and unplanned incidents.
• Work in a 24/7 operations centre with rotating day/night shifts and on-call requirements.
