Job summary

ALO seeks an IT Support Specialist to lead technology operations across its Australian retail stores, openings, and corporate teams. You will manage a regional team, drive store technology rollouts, and partner with US leadership to align on global standards.

The role requires hands-on technical leadership, strong communication, and ability to travel within Australia, with a focus on delivering reliable IT services for retail and corporate functions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT/technical operations management with direct people leadership.
• Experience supporting POS, in-store networking, payment terminals, and retail hardware.
• Experience leading multi-site store technology deployments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel regularly within Australia and occasionally outside the country.
• Ability to coordinate with US-based leadership across time zones.
• Experience in global retail or apparel brand technology organizations.
• Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a regional tech support and field service team.
• Set performance expectations, reviews, and service-oriented culture.
• Serve as regional escalation point for tech issues affecting retail and corporate ops.
• Provide day-to-day tech support for store operations across Australia (POS, networking, devices).
• Monitor tech health and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Loss Prevention and Retail Ops on tech incidents.
• Own tech deployment lifecycle for new store openings—network, POS, hardware, go-live.
• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and contractors to meet standards and timelines.
• Develop and maintain playbooks for regional regulatory/infrastructure needs.
• Provide corporate help desk support for regional employees (hardware/software).
• Manage local IT asset lifecycle with global IT teams.
• Ensure timely ticket resolution and SLA adherence with global help desk.
• Act as regional operations liaison interfacing with US leadership.
• Support regulatory compliance and data localization requirements.
• Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and Risk/Compliance on regional initiatives.
