Job summary

Telstra is hiring a Regional Defence Technician in Australia to operate on-site at customer locations, handling end-to-end activation and assurance tasks across ICT environments. You will manage incidents, service requests, and project tasks, with emphasis on security and documentation, in a dynamic defense-focused setting.

The role requires NV1 clearance, solid vendor coordination, and strong MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• NV1 AGSVA security clearance is required.
• Strong customer management skills are essential.
• Knowledge of data networks such as Juniper.
• Experience with voice technology IP and analogue SFB.
• Experience with passive ICT copper and fibre.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Negotiation skills are important.
• Program management experience is desirable.
• Broad knowledge of commercial, technical and legal issues is desirable.
• Construction project management exposure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support the regional defence team and address issues and opportunities.
• Work on the customer ICT environment including Juniper network, wireless, Skype for Business, video conferencing, and passive infrastructure.
• Manage workload in the service management tool to meet SLAs.
• Resolve incidents and deliver service requests within SLAs.
• Update documentation during changes to maintain ICT environment accuracy.
• Maintain security of the ICT environment and provide weekly reporting to the Delivery Manager.
• Contribute to technical or Procedural documentation.
