Job summary

Simmons Civil Pty Ltd is seeking a Recruitment Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week, school hours with one later day for interviews). Based in Gladstone, QLD, this role supports our talent acquisition strategy and helps attract and retain top candidates to drive our business forward.

You will manage end-to-end hiring, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist with onboarding.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' HR or recruitment experience, currently studying HR or with relevant qualification.
• Strong knowledge of best practice recruitment, employment law compliance and equal opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage candidates.
• Proficiency with recruitment technology platforms.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple pipelines.
• Ability to handle multiple processes, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end hiring: sourcing and attracting candidates through multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end hiring: Sourcing and attracting qualified candidates through multiple channels
• Candidate screening: to identify candidates who meet the essential criteria for vacant positions and conduct initial telephone interviews to assess candidates
• Coordination: schedule and confidently interview candidates
• Preparing job descriptions and recruitment documentation in collaboration with managers
• Onboarding: Processing offer documentation and supporting the onboarding process for successful candidates

What we're looking for

• 2+ years' experience in HR or recruitment, currently studying HR or holds relevant qualification
• Strong knowledge of best practice recruitment, employment law compliance and equal opportunities principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with candidates
• Proficiency with recruitment technology platforms
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and candidate pipelines simultaneously
• Ability to handle multiple processes, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
