Job summary

Cobar Shire Council is seeking a Records Officer to manage Council’s recordkeeping systems and corporate records in line with current legislation. The role involves delivering training, supporting users, and maintaining the EDMS and registers across the organisation.

The position is full-time (nine-days fortnight, 35 hours per week) with negotiable hours for the right candidate. Salary ranges from $64,500 to $74,700 plus superannuation, under the Local Government (State) Award.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the electronic document records management system (EDRMS) and corporate registers.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and contribute to general administrative tasks.
  • Hours are 35 per week, full-time with negotiable days; nine-days fortnight arrangement.
  • Salary range from $64,500 to $74,700 plus superannuation.

Job description

Cobar is a rural mining community located in western New South Wales, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city living. Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Museum, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Community Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Records Officer, you will support the management of Council’s recordkeeping systems and corporate records in line with relevant legislation. You’ll also play a key role in helping users across the organisation use these systems effectively, including delivering training and support where needed.

The role includes maintaining our electronic document records management system (EDRMS), maintaining corporate registers, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and contributing to a range of general administrative tasks.

This role is full-time working nine-days a fortnight, 35 hours per week, however the hours and work days are negotiable for the right candidate.

The remuneration includes a salary range for from $64,500 - $74,700 ($35.48 - $41.07/hr) plus superannuation, with employment terms and conditions in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
