Job summary

Changing Lives is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the Newcastle Clusters in Walker, NSW. You will be part of a team delivering high-quality support to individuals facing homelessness, mental health and addiction challenges.

About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people. Accommodation to us doesn’t just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. It needs to be a welcoming and flourishing environment, offering opportunities for all those we support to feel comfortable and develop. About the Job

Newcastle Clusters is located in Walker, where we have been operating for 15 years. Our project provides 44 fully furnished properties for individuals who are facing a range of complex needs, ranging from homelessness, mental health and substance addiction. We support individuals and families with small children and babies. As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to join our passionate team of 4 members, which includes a dedicated group of 3 support workers. We are committed to delivering high-quality support, and we welcome your expertise and dedication to help us continue making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. You will be given training on all aspects of the role as well as taking part in regular reflective practice and case management reviews with the whole team. The Support Worker plays a crucial role within Changing Lives, providing information, advice and guidance. Undertaken via referral and direct individual support, the Support Workers aim is to enable the person to live independently and work towards overcoming the interconnected problems that lead them into accessing our services.
