Job summary

Viva Energy is seeking an RBI Specialist to lead and advance the RBI program at Australia’s Geelong refinery. You will act as the SME for RBI, drive continual improvement, and work across disciplines to integrate RBI outputs into maintenance and turnarounds.

The role requires deep knowledge of API 580/581, RBI software, and integrity management systems, with strong leadership in refinery risk assessments and incident investigations.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
8+ years experience in refining, petrochemical or oil and gas.
Experience leading RBI programs per API 580/API 581.
Knowledge of API 571 damage mechanisms.
Familiarity with API 510/570/579/580/581/653.
Experience with RBI software and integrity management systems.
API 580 certification desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead RBI program execution in accordance with API 580/API 581.
Facilitate RBI studies for vessels, piping and relief devices.
Maintain and revalidate RBI assessments.
Develop optimized inspection plans based on risk.
Integrate RBI outputs into inspection, maintenance and turnaround plans.
Review RBI findings and process changes for equipment risk impact.
Monitor RBI program performance and compliance.
Support fitness-for-service assessments.
Provide input to MOC activities and incident investigations.
