Job summary
Synergie is seeking a senior Project Engineer to lead critical brownfield upgrade projects across operating refinery sites in Sydney. You will act as the client's engineering representative, overseeing consultants and contractors to deliver safe, compliant projects with minimal operational disruption.
The role requires a degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls and 10+ years' experience in brownfield refinery projects, with strong PLC/SCADA expertise and stakeholder management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls or related engineering field.
- 10+ years delivering brownfield projects within oil/refining or similar facilities.
- Strong PLC/SCADA experience with upgrades and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage PLC and SCADA upgrade projects from concept through commissioning.
- Develop scopes of work, functional descriptions and control philosophies.
- Review designs from external consultants and coordinate multi-discipline inputs.
- Oversee full project lifecycle from concept to handover in live refinery settings.
- Support hazardous area cabling and infrastructure upgrades.
- Provide technical leadership during design, construction, commissioning and handover.
