Job summary

Ivory Group is seeking a Rates/Revenue Officer for a 3-month contract with a Local Council in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. You will process rates, maintain revenue records, issue instalment notices and handle ratepayer enquiries in a professional manner.

This role suits an experienced Rates/Revenue Officer or Accounts Receivable Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and delivers excellent customer service while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a Rates or Revenue role within a Local Council is essential.
• Experience interpreting applicable legislation, policies and procedures.
• Strong numerical and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Rates and Revenue databases accurately.
• Calculate and apply interest to overdue rate accounts.
• Process and issue Section 603 Certificates, pensioner rebates, and waste adjustments.
• Coordinate refunds related to rates, charges and ratings fees.
• Respond to ratepayer enquiries promptly and courteously.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders for smooth revenue services.
