Job summary

Berrigan Shire Council is seeking a Revenue Officer for a 12-month maternity leave position in our Corporate Services team. You will support rates, water and revenue processes, helping customers navigate accounts and payment options.

Qualifications

• Experience in a revenue, rates, debtors, customer service or administrative role.
• Experience with debt collection and payment arrangements.
• Good computer skills, including experience using financial systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to plan, organise, prioritise and manage your time.
• A current Australian Driver's Licence and National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Revenue & Rating - Assist with Council's rating, revenue, debtor and property systems, ensuring records are accurate and maintained in line with legislative requirements.
• Rates & Water Billing - Assist with the preparation and issue of rates notices, water consumption charges, debtor invoices, reminder notices and other revenue-related correspondence.
• Property & Certificates - Process Land transfers, property updates, pension rebates, Section 603 Certificates, special meter readings and other property-related requests.
• Debt Recovery - Assist with the recovery of outstanding rates, charges and sundry debts, including administering payment arrangements in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
• Customer Service - Provide professional and helpful assistance to ratepayers and customers with enquiries relating to rates, water, debtors, property information and payment arrangements.
• Finance & Team Support - Complete daily bank reconciliations, provide relief support across other finance functions and assist with projects and improvements to Council's revenue processes.
