Job summary

Hatch is seeking an Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer in Newcastle to deliver high‑quality structural design for infrastructure projects, with a focus on transportation. You will work within multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients to meet deadlines.

The role involves progressing designs from concept through detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with AS standards, and supporting project delivery across railway and civil structures.

Qualifications

Civil/structural engineering degree and 5+ years delivering civil and structural design.
Experience with transport/infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare structural design for infrastructure projects (concrete, steel, civil).
Coordinate inputs across structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
Review drawings, reinforcement details and schedules for quality and compliance.
Support project delivery to meet programme, quality and budget objectives.
Undertake site inspections to validate conditions for design accuracy.
