Job summary

Hatch is seeking an Intermediate Rail Civil Engineer to support delivery of civil and structural design for transportation infrastructure in Newcastle, NSW. You will work under senior engineers across multidisciplinary teams, from concept through to detailed design and execution.

You\'ll prepare structural designs, review drawings, coordinate inputs, produce calculation packages, and engage with clients to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Civil/structural engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering civil/structural design.
• Experience on infrastructure projects and transport.
• Strong communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural design for infrastructure projects, including concrete, steel, and civil structures.
• Oversee the development of project models in accordance with project and company BIM standards.
• Review design documentation including general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, steelwork drawings, and schedules.
• Coordinate structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural inputs when required.
• Provide designers with sketches, and markups to assist with design documentation development.
• Compile calculation packages and undertake project reporting.
• Liaise with clients to ensure deliverables achieve the requirements and timing expectations are met.
• Undertake site inspections as required to verify site conditions to support accurate design documentation.
• Ensure documentation complies with relevant standards, codes, client specifications, and quality procedures.
• Support project delivery to meet programme, quality, and budget objectives.
• Undertake in drawing checks and design reviews.
