Job summary

Gemco Rail, a leading rail services provider in Australia, is seeking a driven Trades Assistant to join our Rockhampton, Queensland team. You will support maintenance and repair work on-site, assist skilled trades, and help keep the workshop and depots clean and safe.

This full-time role reports to the Site Supervisor and values teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Eligible candidates may access flexible hours and benefits, including paid parental leave and development opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience assisting skilled/trade staff.
• Mechanical aptitude and safe work practices.
• High Risk Work Licence - Forklift essential.
• Willingness to overtime.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist trade staff with on-site maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain workshop and depot cleanliness and organisation.
• Participate in continuous improvements for safer, more efficient production.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Work as part of a lifestyle roster, reporting to Site Supervisor.
