ARTC is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to maintain, repair and upgrade a range of heavy mobile plant across our rail network. The role blends workshop and field work, with occasional travel to sites and regular servicing of equipment to safety standards.

You’ll work with a hands-on team, diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and support Shoulder Ballast Cleaning operations when required. A relevant mechanical trade and valid licences are essential.

Formación

• A trade qualification in heavy diesel or mobile plant maintenance.
• Experience maintaining heavy plant and rail maintenance machinery.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Current Class C driver's licence and forklift licence.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems on heavy plant and equipment.
• Undertake preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades to ensure reliability.
• Perform workshop repairs and field service activities, including fault finding and testing.
• Install and maintain specialised mechanical systems and equipment per safety standards.
• Collaborate with plant operators and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
• Assist with spare parts, inventory and maintenance planning.
• Provide support to the Shoulder Ballast Cleaning team when required.
• Maintain a safe, organised workspace complying with safety and environmental requirements.
