Job summary

LINMAG Australia provides specialist rail milling and reprofiling services across Australia. The company seeks an experienced rail professional with a strong mechanical background to join the Rutherford team.

The role is hands-on as an operator/maintainer, with 60–70% machine operation and opportunities for advancement within a small, skilled team. You’ll be trained in our specialist rail milling technology and will work on projects across heavy-haul, metropolitan and regional networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail maintenance or related fields.
• Strong mechanical fault finding abilities and practical problem solving.
• Willingness to work night shifts, weekends and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and servicing of rail plant.
• Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding and repairs.
• Basic electrical fault finding.
• General repairs and mechanical installations.
• Driving support vehicles between Rutherford base and worksites.
