Job summary

Sydney Trains is seeking an experienced electrical tradesperson to join the Tangara fleet maintenance team at Flemington or Auburn Maintenance Centre in Sydney. You will inspect, service, overhaul and repair train systems, equipment and components to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will report to Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders, collaborate with Rail Maintainers and engineering support staff, and use fault finding and diagnostic skills to resolve issues and contribute to ongoing

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and experience in electrical heavy engineering or maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication, organization and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, overhaul, and repair systems and components on the Tangara Fleet.
• Perform inspections, fault finding, repairs, upgrades and testing on Tangara train equipment.

Job description

You will be part of an experienced team dedicated to repairing the Tangara fleet at either the Flemington Maintenance Centre or Auburn Maintenance Centre, Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Inspecting, servicing, overhauling, and repairing systems, equipment, and components on our Tangara Fleet.
• Performing inspections, maintenance, overhauls, fault finding, repairs, modifications, upgrades, component changes, and functional testing on the Tangara Fleet train equipment and components.
• Reporting directly to the Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders and collaborating with a team of Rail Maintainers and Engineering support staff.

What you need

• You hold an electrical trade qualification with experience in electrical heavy engineering or maintenance, and you excel in fault finding, communication, and lateral thinking.
• You take pride in resolving technical issues and are eager to enhance your skills through additional training.
