Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Rail Maintainer (Mechanical) for the Tangara Fleet Life Extension project, based at Auburn or Flemington maintenance centres. You will inspect, service, overhaul, and repair fleet systems and components, including upgrades and installations to align with modern standards.

You hold a mechanical trade qualification with heavy engineering experience, strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, and the ability to plan and execute tasks independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification and relevant mechanical heavy engineering or maintenance experience.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and working independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, overhaul, and repair systems, equipment, and components on the Tangara Fleet.
• Complete train upgrades and modifications including fabrication, retrofits, rework, fitting, and general installation activities.
• Report to Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders, collaborating with Rail Maintainers and Engineering support.
