Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Rail Maintainer (Mechanical) for the Tangara Fleet Life Extension project. The role involves hands-on inspection, servicing, overhaul, and repair of Tangara fleet systems and components at the Flemington or Auburn maintenance centres.

You will participate in upgrades and retrofits, collaborating with Maintenance Shift Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineering support staff in a high-tech, on-site environment that supports local transport resilience.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical trade qualification and relevant maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently or with a team and manage tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, overhaul, and repair systems, equipment, and components on Tangara Fleet.
• Complete train upgrades and modifications to align our fleet with modern technology standards, including fabrication, retrofits, rework, fitting, and general installation activities.
• Report directly to the Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders, collaborating with a team of Rail Maintainers and Engineering support staff.
