Job summary

Aurizon Bulk Operations in Cloncurry is seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver to operate locomotives across mainline, shunting and yard duties from our Cloncurry depot. The role requires a strong safety culture and a commitment to customer service.

Candidates must hold a Certificate IV in Rail Operations, have experience with Qld Safeworking Systems, and possess a current unrestricted driving licence. Be prepared for 24/7 shift work including weekends and rostered book offs.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work in a safety‑critical rail environment.
• Must have relevant rail operations certification and licences.
• Willingness to operate a 24/7 shift roster including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard tasks.
• Inspect and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Apply best practice train management for safe operations.
• Follow Aurizon safety standards and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and support continuous improvement.
