Job summary

Aurizon Bulk Operations in Cloncurry is seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver to operate locomotives across mainline, shunting and yard duties from our Cloncurry depot. The role requires a strong safety culture and a commitment to customer service.

Candidates must hold a Certificate IV in Rail Operations, have experience with Qld Safeworking Systems, and possess a current unrestricted driving licence. Be prepared for 24/7 shift work including weekends and rostered book offs.

• Must have relevant rail operations certification and licences.
• Willingness to operate a 24/7 shift roster including weekends.

Responsibilities

Job description

Location: Cloncurry

The Aurizon Bulk Operations are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Driver to be based at our Cloncurry depot. This role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.

About the role:

• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous performance improvement.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's award and other industrial agreements relevant to the position of Locomotive Driver.
• Provide excellent customer service.

About you:

• Certificate IV in Rail Operations (Mandatory)
• Experience in Qld Safeworking Systems
• Current unrestricted driving licence
• A strong commitment to safety
• Ability to work a 24/7 shift work roster including availability to work weekends
• Willingness to work book offs as rostered
