Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Specialist Production to deliver specialist production support for Rail Inland Operations. You will use operational data and performance insights to drive safe, reliable train service delivery across a large rail network in the Pilbara.

The role reports to the Inland Rail Manager and involves partnering with operations, maintenance, planning and network control to identify opportunities and strengthen reporting quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail operations or production analysis in a safety‑critical environment.
• Ability to interpret operational and production performance data.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Inland Rail production, train service delivery, asset availability and performance outcomes.
• Analyse production losses, delays, disruptions, utilisation and trends to identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain production reports, dashboards and insights for operational leaders.
• Coordinate investigations into losses, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• Support planning, forecasting and resource optimisation for Inland Rail operations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, planning and network control teams to improve throughput and reliability.
• Maintain data quality, reporting governance and consistent performance definitions.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety and productivity.
