Job summary

Downer Rail & Transit Systems is seeking Facilities Technicians to join the Auburn Maintenance Centre team in Sydney. This hands-on role targets a licensed electrician seeking variety and a single-location site.

You will maintain electrical infrastructure, buildings, lighting, overhead systems and specialist plant, with a Monday–Friday day roster and potential overtime in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical trade qualification and NSW electrical licence mandatory.
• Experience with permits, isolations, lockout/tagout and risk assessments in a safety-critical environment.
• Familiar with computerised maintenance management systems (Maximo/SAP) and maintaining accurate work orders and asset records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractors and maintenance activities with permits, isolations and site safety in place before work.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose electrical faults and coordinate specialist support as needed.
• Carry out safe switching, isolation and lockout/tagout on facility electrical systems.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance work orders and service records to improve asset reliability.
• Complete routine inspections and maintenance across electrical infra and fixed plant in a live environment.
