Job summary

Qube in Bowmans, SA is seeking an experienced Driver Trainer / Assessor to develop and mentor locomotive drivers, deliver training and competency assessments, and uphold the highest standards of rail safety.

To succeed you will hold a Certificate IV in Train Driving and be a qualified locomotive driver with strong communication, coaching and administrative skills, and a willingness to travel across locations as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Train Driving (or equivalent)
• Qualified Locomotive Driver
• Strong understanding of rail safety legislation and competency management
• Experience delivering workplace training, coaching and assessments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong administrative skills and training records
• Ability to travel across locations when required

Responsibilities

• Deliver training and competency assessments for locomotive drivers
• Mentor employees to develop operational, technical and safety capabilities
• Conduct driver assessments and ensure rail safety compliance
• Support training program development and continuous improvement
• Provide feedback, performance reviews and development plans
• Promote a strong safety culture and compliance with rail regulations
• Liaise with operational leaders to support workforce capability and succession planning
• Act as subject matter expert in train operations, route competency and locomotive handling
