Job summary

Queensland Rail is seeking a Tutor Suburban Rail Operator based in Bowen Hills to lead training, accreditation, and reaccreditation programs for Trainee Suburban Rail Operators and Yard Coordinators. You will coach, assess, and support operational staff to build capability and uphold Queensland Rail standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail operations including shunting and yard activities.
• Ability to coach and assess staff in classroom and on-site.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse workforce.
• Knowledge of Queensland Rail's Safety Management Framework.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accreditation and reaccreditation programs for Suburban Rail Operators and Yard Coordinators.
• Train and assess Shunters and Foreman Shunters in classroom and field.
• Coach and mentor trainees to support development outcomes.
• Ensure accreditation requirements meet QR standards and timelines.
• Support operational teams with shunting duties when required.
• Maintain knowledge of yard ops, safeworking, movements and points.
