Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Quarry Supervisor for East Guyong Quarry, NSW. You will oversee drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing and screening, ensuring safety compliance and efficient production.

You will lead a team, manage maintenance, track production metrics and coordinate with quality control and logistics to meet targets. The role requires at least 5 years in quarry supervision, strong leadership and a solid understanding of mining regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Quarry supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of quarrying techniques, equipment and safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations in mining.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency with relevant software and reporting tools.
• Valid driver’s license and heavy equipment certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of quarry operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing and screening.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement production plans to meet targets and quality specs.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance/repairs.

Quarry Supervisor

Heidelberg Materials are now recruiting for a Quarry Supervisor to join the team at East Guyong Quarry, located approximately halfway between Orange & Bathurst on the Mitchell Highway.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily quarry operations ensuring efficient production, safety compliance, and optimal resource utilisation.

In your new role, you will:

• Manage and supervise all aspects of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing, and screening.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement production plans to meet output targets and quality specifications.
• Monitor and optimize equipment performance, ensuring regular maintenance and repairs.
• Lead, train, and manage quarry personnel, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the quarry site to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate production records, inventory levels, and operational reports.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
• Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational expenses.
• Respond to and resolve operational issues and emergencies efficiently.
