Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Red Hill Quarry is seeking a Quarry Maintenance and Mining Supervisor to oversee daily mining and crushing maintenance, coordinate an on-site stripping fleet, and manage a team toward continuous improvement and safe production.

You will report to the Quarry Manager and supervise operations with a focus on maintenance enhancement, equipment monitoring, and production efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance and Zero Harm objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience in quarrying, mining, or related industry; supervisory experience preferred.

The Role

As a Quarry Maintenance and Mining Supervisor at our Red Hill Quarry, you will oversee the maintenance tasks related to daily mining & crushing operations to ensure the efficient and safe production of aggregates. This role also carries the element of co-ordinating an on-site stripping fleet. You will manage a team, monitor maintenance processes, and drive continuous improvement to meet business goals.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role will be multi-faceted and be responsible for supervising quarry operations with a focus on maintenance enhancement and improvement.

In your new role, you will:

• Supervise and coordinate quarry production activities, ensuring targets are met
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across the site
• Lead, train, and motivate quarry staff to maximise efficiency and teamwork
• Work closely with the Site Production Supervisor to monitor equipment and coordinate maintenance, minimizing downtime
• Maintain accurate production records and report on performance metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability
• Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
• Bring a strong safety mindset and manage high risk activities and reduce risk exposure for self and others

About you:

• Experience in quarrying, mining, or a related industry ( supervisory experience preferred )
• Have coached and developed your team with a focus on maintenance enhancement and improvement
• Have a strong working knowledge of crushing plants and heavy mobile equipment
