Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Perth's Byford Quarry is seeking multiple process and mobile plant operators to join its hardrock operations near the Perth metro area. This full‑time role offers stability in a growing company.

You will operate and monitor crushing plant and associated machinery, conduct inspections and maintenance, assist with setup and shutdown procedures, and support mobile plant operations including loaders and dump trucks. Flexibility exists for the schedule.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in fixed or mobile crushing operations or other mineral processing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proactive maintenance mindset.
• Competence in operating mobile plant such as loaders and dump trucks.

Job description

Overview

Are you an experienced Quarry Operator, Fixed Plant Operator or Process Operator, or have you previously worked as part of a mobile crushing, screening or processing team? Are you looking to secure a full‑time stable job within the Perth Metro area? Heidelberg Materials is hiring multiple process and mobile plant operators to increase output at one of its major Perth Hardrock quarrying operations.

Site: Located 4 km south of Byford, accessible from both Rockingham and Mandurah. Byford Quarry has supplied crushed hard‑rock building materials to the Perth market for over half a century and is projected to operate for another 75years.

Work hours: 8:30am to 6:30pm weekdays, with flexibility if required to accommodate school start hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor crushing plant and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and preventative maintenance works.
• Assist with plant set‑up, calibration, and shutdown procedures.
• Perform mobile plant operation supporting hard‑rock processing operations – loader, articulated haul truck, skid steer – with opportunities to operate or progress onto other mining equipment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in fixed plant process operations, fixed or mobile crushing operations, or other screening or mineral processing operations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive attitude toward plant maintenance.
• Competence in operating mobile plant and equipment (e.g. loaders and dump trucks). Additional training can be provided for the right candidate.
• A positive, can‑do attitude is essential.
