Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall in Newcastle is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will provide cost estimation for feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates, budgets and cashflows, and support post‑contract services.

Ideal candidates hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, AIQS/RICS accreditation is highly regarded, and you must be eligible to work in Australia.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• AIQS / RICS accreditation will be highly regarded.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a project team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia unrestricted.

Responsibilities

• Providing cost estimation for feasibility studies.
• Preparing estimates of cost.
• Providing budgets and cashflows.
• Post‑contract services including measurement, valuation and negotiation of variations, estimates of cost increase and advising on revised cost implications.
• Advising on construction methods and techniques, procurement processes, contract types and contractors.
• Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes.
• Monitoring the design against budget.
