Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the Newcastle team. The successful candidate will deliver cost estimation for feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates and provide budgets and cashflows, while supporting post-contract services including measurement, valuations and variations.

The role emphasizes advising on construction methods, procurement, contract types and contractor selection, plus benchmarking and ensuring design remains within budget.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Positive and proactive approach.
• AIQS / RICS accreditation is highly regarded.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a project team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost estimation for feasibility studies.
• Prepare estimates of cost.
• Provide budget and cashflows.
• Provide post-contract services including measurement, valuation and negotiation of variations, estimates of cost increase and advising on revised cost implications.

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for:

• Providing cost estimation for feasibility studies
• Preparing estimates of cost
• Providing budget and cashflows
• Provide post contract services including measurement, valuation and negotiation of variations, estimates of cost increase and advising on revised cost implications
• Advising on construction methods and techniques, procurement processes, contract types and contractors
• Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes
• Monitoring the design against budget

We are keen to hear from candidates with:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in either Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• A positive and proactive approach
• AIQS / RICS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
• The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a project team
• Excellent communication skills
• Eligibility to work in Australia unrestricted
