Job summary

Sunny Queen Farms in Australia seeks a proactive Quality Coordinator to support our Quality Management System, food safety programs, and regulatory compliance across Victoria operations. You’ll begin at the Hallam site with comprehensive training and move to the Mickleham facility when it opens, with travel between sites occasionally required.

Essential: a 3-year degree in a related field and 3+ years in the food industry, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, science or related discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS), food safety programs, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Conduct quality assurance activities including product inspections, testing, verification checks, product release, sampling programs, and monitoring of quality and food safety controls.
• Drive a positive food safety culture by identifying and managing non-conformances, leading root cause investigations, supporting recalls, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner closely with Production teams to provide quality guidance, deliver training, communicate quality standards, and represent Quality in operational meetings.
• Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and timely closure of corrective actions.
• Provide operational support to the Quality team, including reporting, equipment management, and deputising for the Quality & Egg Compliance Manager when required.

Are you passionate about quality, food safety and driving operational excellence? We are seeking a proactive Quality Coordinator to support and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS), food safety programs, customer requirements and regulatory compliance across our Victoria Grading Floor operations.

You’ll begin your journey with us at our Hallam site, where you receive comprehensive training and support. The role will then relocate to our new Mickleham facility upon its opening in December/January. Occasional travel between the two sites may be required, with travel expenses reimbursed.

What You’ll Do:

• Support and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS), food safety programs, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Conduct quality assurance activities including product inspections, testing, verification checks, product release, sampling programs, and monitoring of quality and food safety controls.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry
• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Science or a related discipline
• Exceptional influencing and negotiating skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Quality Management and Food Safety Systems
• Excellent computing skills with a knowledge of company software applications
• Sound understanding of HACCP principles
