We are seeking a Quality Manager / Senior Quality Engineer to lead, maintain and develop the quality function within a defence-focused advanced manufacturing environment.
Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and operations, you will strengthen quality systems, resolve issues and ensure products and projects meet technical, customer and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and develop the quality team, building capability and accountability.
Maintain and improve quality management systems, processes and documentation.
Drive quality performance across manufacturing and project delivery.
Investigate quality issues, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Establish robust processes to prevent recurring defects and improve consistency.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and operations to resolve technical and quality challenges.
Ensure customer specifications, technical requirements and applicable standards are met.
Use quality data to identify improvement opportunities and measure results.
Promote continuous improvement and a proactive approach to quality throughout the business.
You are a technically capable quality professional who takes ownership of problems and follows through on solutions. You bring strong attention to detail, practical judgement and the ability to influence people across different functions.
You will bring:
Relevant quality engineering or quality management experience in defence, advanced manufacturing or automotive.
Experience maintaining and improving quality systems and processes.
Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving and corrective action skills.
The ability to interpret technical specifications and customer quality requirements.
Experience leading, mentoring or developing quality team members.
Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Evidence of measurable improvements in quality, productivity or process performance.
The drive to learn quickly, improve your capabilities and succeed in a high-performance environment.
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) experience will be a major advantage. Automotive candidates with experience in PPAP, FMEA, 8D and IATF 16949 are strongly encouraged to apply.
Defence experience is highly regarded but not essential for candidates with strong automotive quality and relevant advanced manufacturing experience. NV1 security clearance is advantageous.
