Job summary

APT Hosico in Victoria is establishing a new advanced manufacturing facility in Pakenham and seeks an experienced Quality Manager to lead the QMS, environmental and safety functions. Reporting to the COO, you will implement and continuously improve quality policies, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100, and work with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to embed quality across the site.

• Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a Quality leadership role, preferably in aerospace, defence, medical or other highly regulated industries.
• Proven experience maintaining and improving certified management systems.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements, with AS9100 strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits and licence requirements.

APT Hosico delivers world class manufacturing solutions to customers across a range of industries, including aerospace, defence, medical and mining.

Utilising state-of-the-art technologies, complex tooling, materials engineering and a range of manufacturing processes, APT Hosico specialises in difficult to manufacture products for mission critical environments.

As part of our continued growth, we are establishing a new purpose-built advanced manufacturing facility in Pakenham to support expanding aerospace, defence and advanced manufacturing programs.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety functions at our new Pakenham facility.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System and further development of the Company's environmental and safety policies, procedures and systems.

Working closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams, you will ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and certification requirements while fostering a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement throughout the business.

This is a key leadership position that will play an integral role in the successful establishment and ongoing operation of our new advanced manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

About you

Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience

Minimum 5 years in a Quality leadership role, preferably in aerospace, defence, medical, automotive or other highly regulated industries

Demonstrated experience maintaining and improving certified management systems

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 requirements, with AS9100 strongly preferred

Strong technical background eg engineering, machining, toolmaking

Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external certification audits

Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies

Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions and customer quality issues

Excellent written communication and documentation skills

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement capabilities
