Job summary

Evolve Scientific is hiring a Quality Technician for a dairy manufacturer in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. The casual role involves microbiological and chemical testing of dairy samples, ensuring specifications are met and quality systems are maintained.

You will report to the Laboratory Manager and work a 4-day week with rotating day, afternoon, and night shifts. The role requires tertiary qualifications in Food Science and prior lab experience, with dairy experience highly regarded and strong

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a food/beverage laboratory is essential.
• Dairy experience is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills with internal/external stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of HACCP/GMP/GLP.
• Excellent attention to detail.

About the role:

Evolve are recruiting for a Quality Technician to work within a dairy manufacturer in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. The position reports to the Laboratory Manager and will carry out microbial and chemical analysis on their dairy samples. This role will ensure products meet specifications and quality systems are maintained. This is a casual role with working days estimated to be 4 days per week rotating between day, afternoon and night shift. The roster will be given every second week.

Your duties will include:

• Microbiological and chemical testing of dairy/beverage samples
• Ensure products meet specifications
• Validation of new testing methods
• Ensure highest levels of HACCP and GMP by monitoring manufacturing
• Calibration of laboratory instruments daily & maintain cleanliness & tidiness in the lab
• Drive continuous improvement in the business
• Please note some manual handling is required e.g. carrying litre samples from manufacturing to lab.

Skills & experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or equivalent
• Previous experience in a food/ beverage laboratory is essential
• Dairy experience is highly regarded
• Excellent communication skills with internal/external stakeholders
• Working knowledge of HACCP/GMP/GLP
