Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Mascot, NSW, is seeking a Quality Engineer specializing in failure analysis and reliability. You will lead investigations, analyze field data, and drive corrective actions to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction across Australia and New Zealand.

The role requires degree-qualified engineer with 5+ years in FA/Reliability, and experience in RCA methodologies; ability to read schematics and test data is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified Engineer with relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in Failure Analysis, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering or Product Quality.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, 5 Why.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and test data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical failure investigations and root cause analysis across products, manufacturing and customer applications.
  • Analyse field, warranty and service data to identify recurring issues and reliability risks.
  • Drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve product performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Service teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Support warranty assessments and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Contribute to new product introductions, product improvements and reliability initiatives.

You’ll bring
  • Degree-qualified Engineer (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Power Engineering or similar).
  • 5+ years' experience in Failure Analysis, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering or Product Quality.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using tools such as 8D, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, 5 Why or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, test data and performance trends.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
